Does anyone know how I can get rid of or increase the size of the rectangle around my image? The rectangle doesn't appear when I past the image to a document, but it is cutting off portions of the image as you can see:

This is the view from the "Save for Web" option.
Thanks.
Posted by sam at January 10, 2007 10:34 AMthat's a very pretty heart Sam. Are you talking about the black rectangle? I think that is just being added by the Save for Web function, and does not really exist in the image.
Posted by: Jon at January 10, 2007 02:01 PMThanks, Jon. It's for the yet-to-be-determined girl that will be my valentine this year. The rectangle doesn't exist in the image, but its borders are leaving an impression on the image. I'll post the jpeg.....
Posted by: sam at January 10, 2007 04:05 PMTell us more about your plans for Valentines Day, Sam. It's interesting the way your girl is 'yet-to-be-determined' and here you are, still toiling away at her gift. She's a lucky girl, Sam, whoever she might end up being.
Posted by: Mike at January 11, 2007 06:58 AMI feel the identity of the girl is irrelevant. My slaving over this hokey piece-of-art indicates a strict commitment to an ideal, that being true-love. This is the true meaning of Valentine's Day....
Posted by: Sam at January 12, 2007 03:52 PMhaha... well said sam. I love it.
Posted by: Mike at January 13, 2007 05:14 PMI think it's the version of Illustrator, V10, that I'm working in that is causing this problem. Dammit.
Posted by: Sam at January 15, 2007 11:46 AMhmm. can you post the file in illustrator format instead of as a doc? I tried opening it in AI, but it seems to be pretty sure that it's a word file.
Posted by: tom at January 19, 2007 02:18 PMIt was a word file....I replaced it with the .ai
Thanks.
Hmm. Well, I don't think it's actually cutting off the image -- on my copy of illustrator it's just creating a bounding box around the heart that's as tight as possible. If you want it to be larger, I'd suggest creating a larger white box under the heart. Then that'll be the biggest thing in the scene, and illustrator will draw the bounding box around that.
But my prefered way of dealing with this is usually just to save the ai, then open it in photoshop (or just drag it straight into photoshop).
